Kimura’s principal focus is in providing liquidity and working capital to the global commodity markets through a series of private credit strategies, serving pools of capital from some of the world’s largest investors.

Kristofer is responsible for the overall strategy, corporate development and growth of the company. Kristofer founded Kimura in 2013 and is a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to founding Kimura, he held various senior roles at Société Générale, Hetco and latterly as Global Head of Commodities at PPG. Kristofer began his career on the International Petroleum Exchange, working for Banque Paribas in 1998, laterally moving in the same team to ABN AMRO and later through acquisition to UBS in London.
Sylvia is responsible for oversight, management, development, and control of the firm’s Operations, Sustainability and ESG frameworks. Sylvia also leads and oversees the Group’s Impact Investment strategies as CIO of Dhow, Kimura’s African platform.
Sylvia has over 30 years’ investment industry experience in equities and trade finance. She has held C-Suite and Governance roles at leading global asset management firms, and managed a wide range of funds, including pensions, life funds, endowments, wealth management, and alternative investment funds. Sylvia serves as a CFA UK Board Director and is Chair Emeritus of the CFA Institute’s ESG Advisory Panel. Sylvia also contributed to the publication of the AIMA 2023 ESG Handbook.
Warren Kirrane is a Partner and Chief Commercial Officer at Kimura Capital LLP.
Prior to joining Kimura in 2018, he had an extensive energy-focused career in commodities, with his most recent position at Blue Oil Energy as a partner and oil broker. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Trafigura where he traded distillates on a global basis, with a focus on West Africa. He has also helped set up an oil brokerage company with offices in Geneva and London. Warren Kirrane started his career in 1997 as an oil analyst and consultant at Petroleum Economics Ltd. He is based in the USA.
Alan has 40 years of experience in trade finance and structuring.
Following 15 years in trade finance banking, Alan joined Trafigura in 1993. There, he assumed the role of global head of trade finance, assisting greatly in the success of the company, before leaving the business in 2012. Alan has been actively working with Kimura since 2013, and is a member of the Investment Committee.
Craig joined Kimura in 2016, helping to develop the CTF business.
Craig began his career at ABSA bank, moving across into the commodities sector in roles in Structured Trade and Commodity Finance at multiple top tier banks such as Fortis bank, BNP Paribas, Banco Santander, and HSBC. Craig holds a Diploma in Banking, Diploma in Marketing (Banking) and a Diploma in Treasury and International Trade from the Institute of Bankers South Africa.
Mike joined Kimura in 2018, as Head of Middle Office.
Mike began his career at Deutsche Bank London in the Commodity Sector and then progressed to Head of Trade Finance Middle Office in the Structured Trade and Commodity Finance dept at top tier banks being BNP Paribas in London and then Paris for 4 years and prior to Kimura at Standard Chartered Bank London.
Barry Horton is Kimura’s Head of Compliance and MLRO. Barry and his team are responsible for the oversight of regulatory activities, client onboarding and compliance framework, both at a corporate and transactional level.
Barry started his career on the floor of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) initially trading stocks and shares, becoming an individual member of the LSE, and then to the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE). In 2004 he moved into compliance, firstly in Investment Banking followed by inter-dealer derivatives broking and commodity trading. He was a board member of the Joint Money laundering Steering Group (JMLSF) from 2015 to 2017.
Peter works closely with the investment teams across the firm, in overseeing the investment process and client relationships. Peter is also responsible for developing the investment business by sourcing and managing new investment JV’s and strategic partnerships.
Peter has more than 25-years experience in the global investment management industry as a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, with a demonstrated success in alternatives, private capital, and regulated tangible digital assets. Peter gained the CFA charter in 2004, in addition to Fellowship of the CISI in 2001.
Simran has over 25 years experience in the branding, fund raising and marketing sectors having previously worked out of Singapore. She is a co-owner of Beetroot Investments who have been involved in commodity trading since 2008. Simran will be focussed on introducing Asian investors to Kimura and its growth strategy.
Neil provides strategic guidance and support to the executive management team. Neil has worked alongside Kriss Tremaine since Kimura’s inception in 2013.
Neil has 40 years’ experience in the energy markets. After graduating from the University of Wales in Chemical Engineering, he joined BP in the Refining, Shipping and Supply function. Subsequently he held a Trading Manager role in Phibro Solomon. He then joined Goldman Sachs to establish an energy trading desk in London and led a rapid expansion to become a market leader. There followed senior commercial roles in Tosco Corp (latterly Conoco Phillips) and Hartree Partners until 2012.
