Founder & CEO
Kristofer has 20 years’ experience in the banking and physical commodity industry across trading & sales, capital raising, project and trade finance. He previously worked for BNP Paribas, ABN AMRO, UBS, Société Générale, Hetco, and PPG. He founded Kimura Capital LLP to match investor demand for superior risk-adjusted returns with the growing need for alternative finance from SMEs.
Neil has 40 years’ experience in the energy markets. After graduating from the University of Wales in Chemical Engineering, he joined BP within physical oil risk management and trading. He then worked at Goldman Sachs, leading and developing its energy division in London. Having also held senior roles with Phibro and Tosco, Neil latterly was head of crude oil trading at Hetco until 2012.
Alan has 35 years of experience in trade finance and structuring. Following 15 years in trade finance banking, Alan joined Trafigura in 1993. There, he assumed the role of global head of trade finance, assisting greatly in the success of the company, before leaving the business in 2012.
Michael has a trade finance / treasury management background working within some of the top tier commodity trading houses over the past 11 years managing multi-billion dollar inventory financing and receivable discounting facilities. Mike's commodity knowledge spans oil, metals and agricultural products working within different commodity markets over his career. Mike has a wealth of experience in structuring and managing transactional trade finance facilities.
Chief Operating Officer
Mark has 20 years experience working in the commodities industry across banks, trading houses and audit firms in both the front and back office. Mark was the former COO of the commodities business at ICBC Standard Bank and previously worked at Bank of America, Ernst & Young and Enron.
Kimura’s funding vehicle is structured as a Cayman master-feeder with both United States and Cayman feeders. The strategy operates as a commingled fund with a global remit in sourcing commodity trade finance transactions. We were incorporated in 2013 and our headquarters are in London.
The management team has counterparty relationships with more than 500 companies at a commercial trader and management level. This gives us strong in-house deal origination ability. We also have alliances with well-established commodity trade finance third parties, in Europe, CIS, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Our existing relationships with trade finance banks allow us to work with a large spectrum of financial institutions.
